Mileage tracking is simply a way to promote friendly rivalry
between members and to provide a means of recognizing the members that
come out and support the Sumter SCRC.
It is NOT meant to distinguish "good members" from "bad members" and is
not meant to be a means to show non-participation. The Sumter
Chapter does not have required rides or meetings and no "minimum" miles
to remain a member.
If you've already read and
understand the rules for the mileage program,
you can see mileage totals by clicking here.
The following are rules for miles to be included in the mileage program
1)
Rides must be organized via club channels. This means the ride
must be sent by an officer to the entire chapter roster in order to
allow maximum participation of all interested members. The ride
cannot exclude members based on riding ability, motorcycle size, or any
other rules except those required by law and the SCRC Constitution and
Riding Guidelines.
2)
Since this is the Sumter Chapter the ride must originate in the Sumter
area.
3)
The common meeting time and place must be sent to all members with as
much advance notice as possible, but no later than the night before the
ride.
4)
In keeping with the spirit of “allowing maximum participation”, rides
must be held on a weekend or holiday when people commonly don’t have to
work. However, overnight/multi-day trips can count towards mileage
if they meet all the other criteria and are advertised to the club at
least 30 days in advance so people can schedule their time off.
5)
Rides must have at least two chapter members riding on two motorcycles.
However, members that attend an official SCRC rally in support of St.
Jude can receive mileage credit even if traveling alone.
6) To complete the official ride, someone that attended the ride
needs to send a ride report to the First Officer. At a minimum,
the ride report must include who attended the ride and how many miles
were traveled, but it should also include a description of the ride.
Any question or concerns about the mileage program can be
directed to the 1st Officer.
